What’s your favourite LARP moment?
My favourite LARP moment has to be the climax of a VTM larp I attended. The scene consisted of a very emotional moment of my human character being embraced (turned into a vampire) by someone who wasn't meant to. Post embrace many people walked in to the chaos of a newly born feral vampire and a weak sire who had illegally embraced me. The following drama and stories from everyone else that night told a wonderful story, of exploding emotions, betrayal, relief and belonging. I felt so connected with everyone in our shared story and it has really confirmed to me that telling a good story, even if you're losing makes amazing game play
What elements of LARP are your favourite?
Although I adore combat at a fest LARPs and you won't see me without my beloved crossbow, Ismark; My favourite element of LARP is about telling a captivating collaborative story. I adore more roleplay heavy larps as I enjoy intense emotional roleplay and stories with a rollercoaster plot. And of course who couldn't forget the joys of a fun costume
Ignoring personal skill, which character would be your dream character to LARP as?
Honestly I wish I could do the Vampire Lestat Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire TV series. I sadly do not have the looks, confidence or charm to do him justice. But it gives me a goal to work towards
What is your favourite animal?
Very basic here but a Red fox. Although I do also like Fallow Deer, Neocaridina Shrimp and Mountain Zebra
One tip for a new LARPer?
Don't be afraid to say yes or to ask for help! We are all a group of anxious nerds playing dress-up at the end of the day. Throw your self into it and have fun. This community has been one of the most uplifting worlds I've had the pleasure to be part of. I hope all of you can do the same! Oh and don't under estimate the power of a waterproof boot.
